The Hardcore Mind

Where you can read the relatively rational ramblings of a silly half-monkey, half-boy. This freak of nature is named Joel. He also responds to the name 'Bart Wang'.

Something was up last night with the Blogger site because I had time and energy to post but I couldn't get past the first page of the site. Anyhow, it's the weekend and I'm content. I'm watching the Beach Boys 'Endless Summer' DVD right now. I don't know what kicked me into Beach Boys gear but I wanted to download some rare tracks, listen to the music, etc. They're so good. I have to force myself to listen to the post-1966 stuff (i.e., after 'Pet Sounds'). It gets weird for a while and with Brian Wilson suffering mental health issues (as well ruining most of his brain on LSD) and unavailable, I have less interest in that era of the band. Do you care? You should.
One of my old high school friends, Mary Doukas, is getting married today. It's about time. I think she has dated Trevor for 10-11 years or something ridiculous like that. I'm glad it's worked out for them. Summer and Mark are going to the wedding. Or, at least, are supposed to be. It's 1:40PM as I write this, the wedding starts at 2PM on the mountain somewhere and I hear them upstairs still.
Did I tell you about the Jonathan Inc. mini-tour? I don't think so. Oh, that's right, I wrote about it but it was lost somehow. It was fun. It was awesome to have Michelle and Jon visit. I wish they lived closer. Their performances were fabulous. You really need to get their new record. I listen to it frequently.
Melanie and I are heading out to some antique show this afternoon and then hope to see the megafilm, 'Super Size Me', this evening. It's playing in Westdale and should be great. There are a bunch of good movies I want to see. Of course, 'Fahrenheit 9/11' by Michael Moore. That's a given. It's funny that people are protesting the film before it's out. Then I have to check out 'Napoleon Dynamite', which looks brilliantly funny. In the vein of one of my favourite TV shows, 'Freaks & Geeks'. Which, by the way, you should purchase or rent immediately. Turn the monitor off, stand up, walk/run/bike/drive your pie-ass to a movie store or music store and get it now.
Alright, that's it for now.

Now playing: 'God Only Knows'
